...in which Anthony actually sees the page view counter click over from 999 to 1000 and thinks "only 99,000 to go!"

Yes, it's a milestone. A very teensy milestone by comparison to the page view counts of some of my DA friends, but hey, I worry not.

At about 11.30 last night my page view count clicked over to 1,000. I saw it happen, too - and anyone who's ever excitedly watched the odometer on their car click over to 20,000 (or 123,456 for that matter) and gone "ooh" then hastily corrected their steering to avoid the large oncoming truck they were distracted from would know that it's kind of satisfying. I noticed it sitting on 999, hit the refresh button to see if any new messages had come in, and *click*, 1000.

So to all the visitors to this page that contributed to that, thank you for coming along to have a look at what's here.

While 2008 wasn't the most massively productive year for me photography-wise, the two shoots I participated in yielded some results I'm very proud of, and as I got through those shots and cherry-pick a few more to play with to round out that section of things, I'm looking forward to getting new shoots done this year, and more of them. Some plans are already tentatively afoot

In the meantime, I am very grateful for the positive comments and encouragement I've had from some of you. For me, the most fascinating part of the process is discovering whether people like a photo or not (I already know *I* like them ) and it's eye-opening seeing which images are the most widely appreciated. It often surprises me.

So, one thousand. It might not sound all that awesome. But I'm rather pleased anyway.
